Designed to celebrate the best in marketing, the FMBE awards highlight promotional campaigns that go further, do more, and help push the industry to the next level. Short for Field Marketing and Brand Experience, trophies are handed out based on creativity, ambition and achievement. This year, it was Promohire’s turn to take the gold!

What are the FMBE awards?
The FMBE covers shake-ups in the marketing industry and looks at some of the most inventive branding experiences around. It runs articles on a various topics, from live marketing events to tours of public hotspots.
The FMBE awards showcase the best field marketing projects from across the UK. Categories include Most Effective Display Stand or Unit, Most Immersive Event and Most Effective Roadshow among others. In this way, they aim to cover facets of experiential marketing that sometimes go unrecognised.
These ‘brand experience awards’ encourage companies to do their bit for the planet too, calling out sustainability champions for using eco-friendly methods.
WINNER: Most Effective Stand or Display Unit
BiOrbic came to Promohire with an idea. They wanted an exhibition bus to serve as an immersive experience and excite children about renewable materials. It would also need to run entirely on green energy to really drive the message home!
We built the interior from FSC-approved wood and other green materials, creating a mobile display that could be removed post-campaign and installed elsewhere if needed.
It featured:
- A bold orange wrap to advertise the experience inside
- An internal kitchen, bedroom and shower space
- Internal lights and fully fitted home furniture
- Steps, an awning and wheelchair access
- An infographic explaining the effects of fossil fuels
- Solar panels and a lithium battery for clean energy
- Buttons that triggered a voiceover when pushed

Taking the bronze: Most Immersive Event
In honour of The Witcher’s third season, Netflix partnered with Promohire to create a brand experience the public wouldn’t forget. This classic ice cream van featured an oversized medallion, standees and 3D chains, and a wrap emblazoned with characters from the show – all to create a unique, experiential marketing event.
Most importantly, the ice cream had to be just right! So, we asked Soft Service Society to help us produce a special black ice cream, white candy floss, strawberry blood, and a Witchery wafer to match the show’s themes.
With a branded van and one-of-a-kind treat, Netflix ran a campaign that was both fun and exciting. And that’s exactly what field marketing is about! See the results in our Witcher ice cream van case study.
Nominated: Most Effective Roadshow
Running a campaign can be tough, but it would be almost impossible from the other side of the world! That’s why QV Skincare (an Australian brand) partnered with Promohire and The Do Collective agency to create a branded Airstream, where the public could try out the products, speak with skincare experts, and take samples home.
Aside from the vehicle design and build, we also provided the decorative wrap, sourced locations, and arranged staffing so QV could focus on educating guests.
QV handed out more than 10,000 samples across London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, and made new customers all thanks to this face-to-face approach.
